2026 Fun Run: May 15 at Grant Track

 

We are very excited for the 2026 BCS Fun Run! This is the largest fundraising event of the year and would not be possible without your help. We deeply appreciate your support. The funds raised by the BCS PTA during the Fun Run are used for teacher grants, student enrichment scholarships, arts and literacy grants, tutoring support, and community events like Spookarama. 

 

How the Fun Run Works

With this form is a Points Tracking & Pledge Sheet that can be used to track pledges from neighbors, family, and friends. Additional details are on the Pledge Sheet. Donations may be made via our online Fundraising Page or via check or cash through May 29th. On the Fun Run day, teachers will guide students to the track at specific times based on grade levels. A Fun Run station will be set up in each corner of the track. These stations will be recognizable by a tent and color-coded balloons. Students will start and finish their runs (and check in with lap counters) at their stations. 

 

How to Donate

Donations may be made electronically via the Fun Run Fundraising page, which tracks students’ and class progress. Sign in to the PTA website and send the link to friends and family to make donations directly. Detailed instructions are found here.

Alternatively, funds may be collected via cash or check. Please turn in these funds after the event to the office in a sealed envelope accompanied by a pledge sheet with your student’s name and teacher clearly marked.

Prizes

All pledge sheets and donations must be turned in by May 29 for students to receive prizes. Prizes are based on points, which are calculated as: 

(number of laps run x 2) + number of donors

  • Every student who participates will receive a prize the day of the event. 
  • One K-2 class with the most points/student will earn a popsicle party
  • One 3-5 class with the most points/student will earn a popsicle party  
  • All 6-8 classes (1st period advisory) with at least one donation recorded will win classroom donut delivery. 

 

Fun Run T-Shirts

Support our school by purchasing Fun Run T-shirts for $20! This perennial favorite is a premium quality shirt made of tri-blend performance fabric in heathered royal blue, with the Fun Run logo in white. Sizes include both youth and adult sizes in a unisex fit. Be aware that shirts run a little small.  We are selling what remaining inventory we have now that the pre-order date has passed.

Order T-Shirts

Shirts will be distributed before and after school on 5/12, 5/13, and 5/14 on the blacktop near the playground.

Additional shirts will be available for purchase during distribution on 5/12, 5/13, and 5/14 as long as supplies last.

 

Volunteer

We need many volunteers to make this event a success! Review volunteer needs and sign-up to help through our website.

General Reminders for the event, Friday May 15th

  • Students should bring water bottles to the track (very limited water onsite).
  • Students should wear shoes and clothing that are appropriate for running.
  • Students are encouraged to WEAR BLUE to the Fun Run to promote school spirit!
  • Prepare to run in rain or shine–the event will not be canceled for rain.
  • Only students, teachers and volunteers are allowed on the track during Fun Run. 
  • Spectators are encouraged to cheer from along the perimeter of the track. 
  • Bring your friends, neighbors, and family to watch! Signs, cheering, high fives, and enthusiasm are very welcome!
  • No dogs on the track.
