We need your help to spruce up our campuses

Aug 18, 2011

Each year just before the first day of school, PPS organizes Project Community Care, a citywide volunteer initiative that beautifies schools.

We will need your help to spruce up our school both inside and out for the return of students!

  • What: Project Community Care Day
  • When:  SATURDAY, AUGUST 27, 2011 FROM 9 AM TO NOON
  • Where:  On both the BCS Hollyrood and Fernwood campuses

Volunteers will be needed to pull weeds, spread mulch and bark chips, trim bushes, edge grass, clean up litter and complete a number of other tasks to make the school more welcoming for incoming students and the communities around them.

Please bring your own garden gloves and any of the following: rake, hoe, shovel, wheelbarrow, electric or manual hedge trimmer, weed whackers, weeding tools, pruners, etc.  Please make sure your tools are labeled!  Water and snacks will be provided, but bring your own if you can.

Please come, even if you can stay for only 30 minutes to do one small project.  Many hands make light work so even one half hour of your time will make a big difference!  Bring the whole family— there is something for everyone. Younger kids can help pull weeds and older students can receive community service hours for their participation.

If you would like to help but can't come on Community Care Day, please email us for suggestions of projects to do on your own time.

Thanks for all you do to support our students and the BCS community!
