PTA Clothing Center Needs Volunteers

Beverly Cleary School's next volunteer day at the PTA Clothing Center is Thursday, December 7th (from 9:30 am-1:30 pm at Marshall HS) and we are in need of volunteers.  Beverly Cleary School PTA is responsible for staffing the PTA Clothing Center with volunteers for four days this school year, and shifts are from 9:30am-1:30pm.  Our upcoming dates are Monday, Dec. 7, Thursday, Feb. 18, and Thursday, April 22.  If you are interested in volunteering for a time or two (or all four!), please contact Abbie Rankin.

As you are cleaning out your closets, please consider donating clean and gently worn clothing to the PTA Clothing Center, which is located in Marshall High School.  It offers families in need the chance to come in and outfit their children and selves for school.  Every school in PPS helps staff it and sends donations to the Center.  You can drop off your donations at the Hollyrood campus (look for a blue plastic container in the lobby) and at the Fernwood campus (look for the tall, white container in the front office).  Please donate clothes that you would want your children to go to school in (and it is requested that you not send clothing with school names on it).  The Clothing Closet is a 501(c)3 and each school secretary has a donation form if you would like to use that for your donation.  Also, near the winter break, any unclaimed lost and found clothing at the schools will be washed and donated to the Clothing Closet.

One final note about clothing.  The school secretaries at both locations have a need for unisex clothing (think sweat pants and t shirts) in small, medium, and large sizes to have for the office to use in emergencies for children.  If you have some of this type of clothing to donate, it would be very appreciated.  Thank you for your help!
