Research: Colonial America Project: At HomeMr. Streckert’s Class Step One: On the Internet, research the American Colonial Period (1607 –1776).   There are many excellent web sites on the period.  Select a colony, Native American Indian tribe, leader, religious group, business (whaling), craft (barrel, soap, cloth, candle making,), or aspect of the Colonial way that sparks your interest.  Research carefully the Internet material and see if you can find other related sites. Become a wonk (expert) on your topic.  NOTE the posters examples in the room.  Sign Up in the room on your topic by Wednesday, November 19. Step Two:  Create a poster with the following elements. ·        Title: example Colonial Food·        Map if possible·        Illustrations, pictures or charts with labels·        Timeline ·        Text: What impact and or contributions did your topic have on Colonial life?  Provide an explanation; write up significant fact, dates and interesting details on your topic.   How did your topic have an impact on Colonial Life.·        Cite your Internet source. Step Three: Present your poster to the class.·        Introduce yourself and your topic. Make eye contact and speak up.·        Give an overview of your main ideas with selected details about your topic.  Make it interesting.·        Explain how or why your topic had an impact on Colonial life.·        Conclude your presentation with a brief summary.
